There is something invigorating about slipping on a freshly laundered shirt or a clean pair of jeans. It’s more than just about looking neat. When our clothes are clean, we might stand a little taller or move through the world with a little more confidence. Beyond that, keeping our clothes clean is a healthier way to live.

At All In One Laundry Center and Services, President and CEO Pamela Frazier believes cleanliness is what drives her business across Springfield, Sangamon County and beyond.

“There’s a great need. Laundry is essential. It is essential just like water and air,” said Pamela. “I’d like to think it’s a medical necessity. It’s a health driver.”

“All In One Laundry is a one stop shop for all of your laundry needs,” Pamela continued. “We specialize in coin laundry, wash and fold, dry cleaning and alterations.”

Pamela’s brick and mortar is much more than a traditional laundromat. All In One Laundry also provides commercial cleaning services, dry cleaning services, laundry pick-up and delivery, and much more.

Seeds to success

Pamela’s business dreams took her across the country. She is a graduate of Springfield High School and graduated from Robert Morris College near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with a degree in secretarial sciences. She followed her future husband to Atlanta where they started All In One Management and Services, which was founded in 2002 as a power washing company.

In 2004, wanting to be closer to family, Pamela and her husband decided to move back to Springfield where she built up the business before opening her current location on South Grand Avenue in September of 2019, six months prior to COVID.

Clean is good business

When customers step into All In One Laundry, customers are met with a impressive array of the latest in laundry equipment. There are more than
50 washers and dryers at Pamela’s facility with capacity from 20 pounds. There are also top-of-the-line commercial grade washers and dryers with the ability to handle volume up to 100 pounds.

The commitment to excellence has made All in One Laundry a destination, drawing customers from central Illinois.

“All In One is servicing the community from Lincoln to Virden, and from Decatur, across Sangamon County and Springfield,” explained Pamela. “I have individuals that travel from across the city near other laundry centers and making an effort to come into All In One Laundry. They know that we will be there for them, and it’s much more than a laundry center.”

That growth extends far beyond the footprint of the laundry facility. Under Pamela’s leadership, the business has dramatically expanded its commercial reach.

“All in One Laundry center has truly grown,” explained Pamela. “We have state contracts that we service. In addition, we have other contracts from gyms, spas to construction companies. It is simply amazing how many touch points we have to keep things clean. We also have a fleet of box trucks so that we’re able to deliver as well.”

Pamela notes that she intentionally targeted commercial operations as a critical driver of new business.

“When I purchased All In One Laundry Center, the business was just doing laundry. There were no state or federal laundry contracts,” noted Pamela. “That was something that I began to go after.

“I immediately engrossed myself for learning the niche of what was required for commercial laundry services,” said Pamela. “Those contracts began with state agencies.”

“We also partner with hospitality businesses. We can clean and supply the linens. We can also do chair covers, the tablecloths, anything. There is no task too small for us to complete.”

Amid all its commercial success, the soul of All In One Laundry seems to be Pamela’s personal connection to her hometown. For her, success boils down to customer service.

“We know when some customers come in, we can set our watch and our time. We know the days of the week that they’ll come in,” said Pamela with a smile. “We know what machines are used. Knowing those things speak volumes. We know the customers and call them by name.”

Pamela says that intimate knowledge about her customers transforms the space into a stage for life’s moments.

“There are just so many stories that are shared on the laundromat floor, and knowing that a part of growing with their families, whether we’re washing graduation gowns, to cleaning that wedding dress for a family member, these doors are open seven days a week for any and all to come,” shared Pamela with a grin. “I welcome anyone to the laundry center.”

Ultimately, Pamela says he believes the answer to why All In One Laundry matters is simple.

“I believe our community knows that we care. This is a safe haven,” explained Pamela as she looked around the laundromat floor. “So outside of the baggage you bring in, when you leave here, not only is your laundry clean, but you are uplifted as an individual. Because we do care. We will listen. We will be here to listen and provide the resources that you may need for whatever that need may be.”

Pamela also wants others to understand what is takes to start their own business dreams.

“Do something you’re passionate about. You have to be wholeheartedly involved in what you’re doing and where you want to go, explained Pamela with enthusiasm in her voice. “Be intentional about it and know that you’re going to hear no’s.”

As for Pamela, she is just where she wants to be every day.

“I meet wonderful people. I love to be on the laundry center floor. This is my passion. This is my ministry.”
